Synopsis:

Book Four of the Eflatun Series

Kemal discovers his girls have entered the protected valley where he keeps his hippogryffs, and whisks them of to Istanbul to be evaluated. His ordinary wife, Kristine, follows, trying to adjust to the idea that her husband of 12 years has been concealing the fact that he is a magus, and descended of an ancient magi family. She fears she will lose her two daughters (Daphne and Zuzu) to this frightening new world.

When Kemal becomes absorbed in helping the former love of his life (Effie Jameson) with the hippogryff program at her school outside of Istanbul, and Zuzu is singled out for special attention by the powerful Asuman Büyüzade, and Daphne develops the ability to see the ghosts of Asuman's past, the plot thickens.

A hippogryff race, a dance, a waterfront mansion, Turkish foods and customs, old friends and lovers...

When an evil magi bent on revenge against the Büyüzades escapes from prison and abducts Zuzu, Kristine takes action in ways she never thought possible.
