Brief Author Bio: The story so far: 2007: Purgatory. Crashed and burned early on, and I quit altogether. 2008: Q. Imm. (working title). Still the best title I can come up with. Intended it as a series of interconnected vignettes from the life of a character I came up with for, of all things, a fantasy-ish pirate roleplay. The opening involved the character (a nameless, androgynous fugitive/wanderer who lives in nondescript black clothing... and a bright red feather boa, for reasons I even I do not know) sitting alone in their their detached, reflective way at a table in a bar in a stock fantasy inn. That went all right, but then the barmaid sat down and wouldn't leave. The next thing I know they're falling in love, I see flashbacks from the MC's past as an intersexed bigender teenage political activist (hence being a fugitive) and I'm hearing from the MC's brother about his own problems with his arranged marriage of convenience with his married girlfriend's sister. I still don't know what that story's about. 50,000+ words and still no ending in sight. 2009: Laima/Pioneer. Was going to be a major reworking of a very old idea (first title), then a prequel to that when I decided I liked the backstory better. I don't feel like writing it any more, and I'm having great success with a Star Trek spinoff (second title), so... yeah. Changing again. |

Excerpt: Star Trek: Pioneer
“You can't be serious.”
“When am I not serious?”
“Never, you're the most serious person I know who doesn't have pointed ears.”
“Thank you.”
“Just the fact that you took that as a compliment worries me.”

“You can't get dressed in the dark. You're liable to drop one of your pips and bust yourself back to lieutenant.”
