I did NaNo two years in a row and made it to 55,000 words in 2007. In 08 I did terribly. But I plan on making sure that I make it this time.

Synopsis: Curse of an Ancient Kingdom

A new twist on Arthurian Legends.

Excerpt: Curse of an Ancient Kingdom

They said that the day of the birth of Salvidor and Syndia was the beginning of the end. It started with the simple cry of a baby, who was joined by the second voice. Twins were not common among the majesti, and the sign of a boy and a girl even more uncommon. Back in the days of ancient kingdoms and lore, if a woman bore twins, the younger was to be killed. The same if any of the children bore the signs of being left handed. For it was believed that they were the work of the devil. And as the Lady Rasinco had no husband to speak of, many believed that she had laid with a demon to bear children in exchange for her soul.

None, except for God and the Rasinco lady herself really knew the truth behind it all. Her lips were sealed shut. She would never spill her secret. One night, after a meeting of the council of elders at the village of Tecomea, twenty odd townspeople came to the Lady Rasinco is door. They pounded, screaming for the death of her daughter, weaving tales that the babe would bring evil to the town. But the Lady wouldn’t budge. She would never give up her precious daughter. Her life.

The years passed and as the time moved on, the Lady had only gained the twins as children. She was never with anyone else. However, she gave up her two precious gifts when the time came. She couldn’t let them live lowly lives forever. So she gave them away. Many said that she had sold them into slavery. But the truth is that she had sent them to be apprentices, her son on to the Wizards of the Sun, and her daughter to the Priestesses of the Moon. One twin to go north, the other to go south. Opposites, that is what they all ways were and probably all ways would be.

This is where our true story starts. At the beginning of Salvidor is training, in the land of the sun to the north.
