Princesses Aren't Fat
an excerpt
. As the last of the stone crowned women bowed before what Andaline assumed must be the leader of their group, the older woman removed her diamond diadem and handed it to the last young woman maybe a few years older than Andaline herself. Nodding gravely, the young woman wrapped both hands securely around the sparkling half crown, pressing it to her chest and fell to her knees again before the older woman. The woman leaned over and helped the younger one to her feet, pulled her into a warm hug, and traced her left hand lightly across her forehead just as she had seen her grandmother do to her own mother. She then gently steered the younger one towards the light . Just before she disappeared into the light Andaline saw the young woman’s face twist into a sly smile. The globe of light immediately collapsed in on itself as she disappeared. The woman kneeled quickly to the floor where the pulsating globe of light had once danced and pried a small golden disk from a depression in the floor. Surprise widening her eyes, Andaline kneeled down beside her recognizing at once the Tyr. Glancing into woman’s face as she stood and tucked the Tyr into the folds of her golden robes, Andaline was shocked into wakefulness. She had eyes just like Andaline’s.
