The pair broke free from the forest and saw smoke on the horizon. Thea's heart matched Ignatius' thundering paws. As they drew closer, her fears became a reality. Like an expertly thrown rock skips the water, the ship had skipped across the land, leaving patches of devastation in it's wake. The Brook clan was gone. Demolished by the impact, the pitted land smoldered as rain began to sprinkle. It was as if the very planet was weeping over the loss.
