Everlasting (it's stuck. I tried not to make it stick, but it stuck anyway)

PROLOGUE:
The Beginning and A New Way of Life
The birth of an Eternal is possibly the curiest thing the world has ever seen.
When "born", an Eternal is encased inside a large, egg-shaped stone. There it incubates for the first twenty - one years of it's life, in a state of comeplete consiousness. In that time, while they're slowly growing from your average form of a new-born baby to that of an adult human, Eternals learn of their existance. HOW they were born; the Dream realm and Reality realm crossing over when another of thier species has died. What their abilities are; their unique ability to never run out of energy, never have to eat, drink, sleep, or even to breath. Their species (human) and the customs of the particular sect that they happened to be birthed in, it's language and how their age and gender would act. When they emerge, fuly dressed in the garb appropriate for their age, gender, and sect, they are completely ready to take on the human world as Eternals.
We, my "sister", as I suppose you could call her that, and I, were bron Eternals in the country France, emerging at the start of a civil war, in the late eighteenth century. Luckkilly, when we emerged, we were dressed like regular peasent girls, and didn't perish in the coming revolution against the country’s nobles.
In the next couple of centuries, my sister and I had no end of fun, exitement, and some good strong terror now and then. We participated in another civil war, this time in a country accross the stream, and weaved in and out, speading time on either side of the law, and on either sides of the war, sometimes even on opposite sides of each other.
We were mostly nomadic, spending time with humans, but not really participating in any regular, every - day activities that they had. We chanted in rallies, shot in wars, and delivered the occasional baby, but mostly steared clear of BASIC human life, with all of its boredom and monotony.
When our bodies grew "old", relatively early at firtst, we found spots for our peaceful, natural, disease - free death. There we closed our eyes, consious of our death, still powerless to stop it, but not unhappy about it. Drifting, we were disconnected for a moment, from the realm of Reality, and got a glimpse of the Dream realm, an award given to us for surviving our first life-time. Then, as it ended, so it began again: We wake-up screaming, in the arms of an unfarmiliar doctor or midwife, being handed to a mother that usually doesn't resemble us. When reborn, Eternals are randomly placed in a mother's house, replacing her child that was just born. A joy, to finaly experience childhood outside of our egg, but a curse to have to wait for adult-hood to finally be free, or break our foster mother and father’s heart and run away. A choise sometimes made easier if the cucoo's parents are abusive or otherwise harmful. In the beginning of our third lifetime, this was the case of our random placemnt. Thus, we had no qualms taking-off at the tender age of "eight", taking with us most of what little stuff our horrible parents had hoarded over us.
Yes, we usually did whatever we could to find exitement in the world we were set into. Soon, even random exitement, kidnappings and the like, grew tiresome. Presidential scandals became typical, any show or movie a a bad rip - off of the
previous, and we almost grew tired of life in itself. We even sometimes sat around all day, , speaking our thoughts allowed, wondering what our purposs in life was.
The invention of the god - game call "video - games" stopped the thoughts and
boredom momentarilly, but it started back up again as we even grew tired of them, a little bit.
It was definately time, we decided, that we adopted a way of life that was different from our regular nomadic ways. The exiting life was like fireworks; awseome! Prettyful! Dramatic! But the fire went out after just a few seconds.
So we decided to try something else.
