Brief Author Bio:

I've been writing in some form or another since I was in the first grade. The Author's Table was always my favorite station during free time. :) After that I progressed to fanfiction, mostly Harry Potter based, until I was about 13, when I started writing original fiction and poetry. I don't write as often as I should/would like to, but when I do I thoroughly enjoy it. If I could be an author full time and still afford to pay bills and such, I would. But because I don't see that happening any time in the near future, I'm currently studying Forestry at a lovely Central California University. I hope to possibly minor in english/creative writing or photography.

I've never won NaNoWriMo, but this is my year! (I say that every year, but we'll see...)

Synopsis: Untitled

In the opening sequence, a woman comes home from work to find her husband hanging dead from the rafters of their garage, which sends her into shock. She wakes up in the hospital where they keep her for several days of observation before releasing her to go home.

And that's all I've got so far. :) But it's a start.

Excerpt: Untitled

It had been a very long day. In fact, it had been a long week too. Rosemary had been working long hours to make up for the work her employees either hadn’t been doing correctly, or hadn’t been doing at all. How was she going to get all of this worked out? She couldn’t go on like this forever, maybe a training day? Some extra incentives? But as she got into her car, none of that mattered anymore. It was Friday and she was going to spend a relaxing weekend with her husband, lazying around the house. He had insisted on it. He said she’d been working herself to the bone lately and needed a break and some time to be self-indulgent. She was really looking forward to 48 hours of lying in a hammock with a good book and a glass of wine, taking some time to snuggle up and watch a movie with that fantastic hubby of hers, and cooking a delectable meal and not care how healthy it was.

These thoughts consumed her mind as she drove from The Italian Bistro towards home, several blocks away. She pulled into the neighborhood and then into their cul-de-sac and pressed the button for the garage door opener as she approached her driveway. She braked and turned into the drive as the garage door began to roll up an out of the way, but what she saw made her shut her eyes tight and open them again, hoping she was imagining things. Was she really seeing this? Being revealed slowly as the garage door opened was a dangling pair of brown leather shoes, followed shortly by two legs clothed in navy blue dress pants followed by a torso in a white dress shirt and finally the contorted face and awkwardly angled neck of her husband.

Her mind went blank. She unthinkingly pulled the parking brake and just sat there, staring unbelieving at the grotesque scene in front of her. It wasn’t until the piercing shriek of a neighbor broke the unnatural silence that she finally took everything in. She shut her eyes and a scream of horror escaped from her mouth, she fumbled with her seat belt and tumbled out of the car. Pushing herself up, she stood, and took one more look at her husband before sinking to the concrete of the driveway again in a dead faint.
