Stepping through the door and letting his eyes adjust from the strong sun outside, Will’s face became a mask of confusion. He didn’t acknowledge the flash of red hair that quickly stepped behind him until he turned when the door shut and the lock clicked.
“Uh, hi guys? What’s everybody doing here, and what’s with the group costume? Halloween’s not till the end of the week. Also... why is Kim standing in front of the door with a sword?”
Everyone turned to look at the redhead who stood blocking the door, a katana sheathed at her hip. “What’s everyone looking at me for? You said not to let him leave, so I’m not letting him leave.” She drew the sword and Will took a step back. “Relax, this one’s not even sharpened” she said re-sheathing the blade with a flourish.
“Maybe the next one of these will be for your weapons collection, Kim.” Andy quipped.
“Just try it. These things still hurt blunt--especially in the groin.”
Andy cringed and shrunk back at her threat. “Fair enough.”
Will cleared his throat. “Ok seriously, what’s going on? What ‘one of these’ is this?”
“This” Seth began and stood, motioning for the rest of the room to do the same “is an intervention.”
