Thought Seer:
His eyes glazed over as the professor droned on. It had been an interesting lecture at first, full of facts about Faeries that he hadn’t known before. Then the professor had begun to repeat himself. Marun couldn’t focus, he tried, honestly he did, but it just was not happening. He could feel his mind begin to wander; he started roaming the room, looking for some form of fun or another. He started scanning for random thoughts, not all the students had learned how to shield their minds properly yet.
After pulling away from a few of the more disturbing thoughts, Marun was attracted to one though in particular, though it was actually a daydream of sorts. It was a fantasy, the young man saw himself as a spell caster, but he wasn’t just thinking of power, instead he was thinking of humans. Marun had to keep from laughing; he pressed his hand hard against his mouth. Everyone knew humans were just a myth. No one had seen a human since the Great War and that had been several centuries ago.
The boy was dreaming of meeting them and teaching them magic. Even before the Great War when humans had supposedly existed, it had been forbidden to teach humans any kind of magic.
“Marun Leaonaes Pruseca.”
A loud thud shook his entire desk and jolted him from his thoughts. The Professor had apparently called on him.
“When you are quite finished. Review the five Faerie kingdoms for us.”
He sighed, this was an easy one.
“In Faelic.”
Faelic, the Faerie tongue…now that was a bit more challenging, he thought to himself as he ran through the five kingdoms, matching them to their Faelic names. He had to think for several long moments.
“Tseroso, Ejuku-Vaneka, Aelena, Vegsaero, and Upak.”
“Very good. Please try to pay attention from now on. You will be tested on this material.”
Marun nodded mutely. The professor returned to his droning, hammering on things he had already stated at least three times already. Once again Marun tried to pay attention, this time sitting up a bit straighter and holding his mind in check. It wasn’t long before he was scanning loose thoughts again. This time trying to pay attention to what the professor was saying at the same time.
He found himself looking for the particular daydream he had seen earlier, trying to figure out which of his classmates it had belonged to. He hadn’t been able to see the dreamers face. He scanned the various thoughts, again avoiding the more disturbing ones. There was one that caught his eye; a pretty faun was stripping out of a robe, her fur glistening as though she had just gone swimming. He licked his lips. There was nothing left to imagination, but he was just fine with that.
Shaking his head slightly he refocused. He wanted to find who the spell caster was and what he intended to do. He found him, or rather her. The spell caster was a female, a lovely Elven female too. He caught a glimpse of her face under her hood. One ear peeked out from the edge of the hood. All he saw though were chocolate brown eyes; they were shaped like almonds, delicate almonds. He watched as she kneeled beside a human girl. He watched every move, taking in the form of her body and the way she smiled as she handed the girl a flower she had created just for the girl.
The sound of music brought him back to the classroom. The professor was standing to one side and music was echoing through the room. He out the corners of his eyes to make sure his classmates were still there, the were. There were one or two scribbling down notes, but the rest were just sitting, listening.
