an excerpt
The sky was smothered in a light red hue, the clouds were stationary and the sun was nowhere to be seen. It was a typical day in Kurashima.
As Minato walked along the market place he was met with many stares and was suddenly the topic of many conversations around him. He sighed in relief; “everything is normal”.
“Oi! Watch’ere ya goin punk! I’ll fukin kill you ya maggot!”
It was just another fight. As always, the big bullying the small.
‘Should I join in and break up the fight?’ thought Minato to himself. But he instantly brushed off the idea. There is no such thing as a Good Samaritan here in Akatsuchi. There exists no humility, and definitely no sympathy for another man. Even if he were to break up the fight, the only thing awaiting him would be an ambush to take his life, with the man he saved involved in the attack. That is fine though, it has been a while since ‘AkujōKen’ tasted blood.
“Hold it. There is no need for such reckless behaviour. If you wish to fight, I will be your opponent”
There was no need for Minato to interrupt. Some idiot willingly volunteered to act as a sacrificial lamb. He looked into the mans’ eyes and saw that the he was not a local. His eyes were unlike anything he had seen before. A triangular cornea… He was definitely not a local. “I will remember him”.
