Brief Author Bio:

My daughter introduced me to Nanowrimo and I have not looked back. It is a thrill to be one of thousands all struggling together. This is my third time writing. I am also on Spark People in the nanowrimo and scriptfrenzie team. Spark people is a free on line support for healthy living, sort of like facebook. We have a busy chat room in there November but it is ongoing year round!

Synopsis: The Whispering Dam

After fleeing first France, then Ireland, a young woman finds herself struggling in 1820's Upper Canada to survive. Overcoming abduction, racism and inequality, she inluences the lives and future of the building of the Rideau Canal, it's community and the ultimately the future of women in Canada. The Whispering Dam was the largest and most monumental undertaking of it's time by John Redpath and Colonel John By. It became Marjolaine's source of inspiration and hope. But like the dam, her impact in Canada's history was soon minimalized and forgotten. This is her story.
