Meribeth Daley sat in her mother's living room, cross legged with newspaper classifieds spread around her on the floor. The daughter of Gregory and Carol Daley was a pixie compared to her parents, where Mr. Daley had his hair combed back neat and in place and wore Dockers every day, and Mrs. Daley was never without a clean conservative beige shoe, Meribeth's daily style choices opposed their sterile nature with a pile of long pink dyed hair tucked on top of her head with chopsticks, and a lime trench coat embroidered with daisies and little suns that she found at Value Village, and typically either yellow maryjanes or black knee high laced up boots poked out from underneath. They could easily afford to buy her a coat that was new and from a mall, but she had much more fun exploring the things people decided they could live without.
