Killing in the Name of...
an excerpt
The meeting started, and eventually the chair gave way to Bob Crow. He gave a long speech about how when it came to the People’s Front, he was possibly the most effective person in the whole organisation when it came to encouraging hatred. He produced some stats from Mori, which showed that he was more hated than Hitler, Thatcher and Robbie Williams combined. When it came to turning the population of Britain against himself, Bob Crow was in a league of his own.
The speech continued in this way, and Ivanhoe considered that this was basically one big orgy of self-congratulation for Bob Crow. It seemed that various members of the People’s Front also felt the same way, going by some of the facial expressions of people in the crowd – perhaps Bob Crow was a little too good at his job? Thankfully, the speech finished, but Ivanhoe and his fellow attendees were horrified to learn that the next item on the agenda was a short film called ‘Why I’m So Great: The Bob Crow Story’. This was too much for the attendees, and after several heckles and shouts, the crowd rose as one and went to rush the stage and take care of him themselves. Ivanhoe wasn’t going to stand for this – the journey to get here had caused him far too much grief for him to see someone else get the satisfaction of taking care of Bob Crow, so he rushed his way to the front, forced his way between Bob Crow and the crowd, and drew his gun, shouting “Get back!” The crowd started having second thoughts, and slowly made for the exit.
