The smell was the first thing Anya noticed as she stepped off the transport and her feet made contact with the Space Station Convergence. It was always the first thing she noticed about a place. This smell was a mixture of antiseptic cleansers, newly upholstered furniture, lemons, and something else she couldn’t quite place. It hit her like a wall. It wasn’t entirely unpleasant, but it wasn’t lilies of the valley, either.
