Paige is a homicide detective with a background into the arcane. She's been labeled the "witch detective", not because she's a witch. Oh, no. That might have been all right. She's earned that name because she comes from a family of witches and she's being plagued with murders that aren't of the average psycho-killer variety.

When she gets a call from the St. Francisville police force of yet another serial murder investigation with symbols of witchcraft strewn about the place, she knows she's stepped into completely new territory. What she uncovers is a plot to raise a demon to open the Gates to Heaven and Hell using a broken Key. Everything should be simple, right? Stop the bad guy, find the Key, and send this demon back to Hell where he came from.

If only life were that easy. She and a devilishly handsome demon hunter, Dexx, must decide whether to fight the Guardian Demon Luceus and the murderer, or join together with the demon and keep the Gate to Heaven and Hell closed.
