Brief Author Bio: Hullo, I'm Nina. I didn't think I'd be back doing NaNoWriMo this year, but here I am again! I joined up in 07 and wrote a bizzare humour story called 'One Man and his Snail' about a tramp called Ratbreath. Last year I tried something more serious, a novel called 'Lysandra' about a family curse. As for this year... well, you'll have to see. |

Synopsis: To the Sky
In a parallel world, the dictatorship of Britannia is constantly warring against its neighbour, Gaul. A stalemate is reached, both principlities scrounging for every last technical advance. And then- a breakthrough. The discovery of the Telepaths, humans born with incredible mind powers, able to read and influence others, possessing powers both incredible and dangerous. In this way, Carrie-Anne and her twin Julian are drawn into the terrible experimentation carried out by Britannia.
Five years pass, and thirteen year old Carrie-Anne has forgotten everything. Even her brother. Living in a tiny, secluded, stifling village on the moors, she can remember nothing of the three years when she was taken away. Though with her parents, her two younger brothers, she feels absolutely alone. An outsider, the only ones she can talk to are animals, the birds who visit her windsill. Repressed, unable to speak to anyone about her abilities for fear of the government, she can only catch pieces of her past in her dreams; a black, raging fire, complete destruction, the hole in her heart where she knows something is missing- though what, she cannot figure out.
Watching the skyships depart from the port, she wishes too- that if she had enough courage- she could leave this town. Leave it, rediscover her past, and find the brother she only knows from pictures. Leave it all behind... and head to the sky.
