Burt had forgotten to get matches. Jack still had his lighter from this morning. And his dad was likely safe in bed three miles away. The road from here to there was not straight it did not have a sidewalk and Jack had never wanted to walk over to look at the ocean. Burt had never been to his dad’s place.
