Brief Author Bio: Itazu is a young girl who lives in the GTA, Canada and apparently has a very active imagination. No one would ever like to be in her head. She lives in a small house and has a small bedroom where she writes most of her work. Other places she writes are in the kitchen, at school in the middle of classes or at restaurants on napkins. She lives with her two parents and little brother who is always doing things to embarass her, such as stripping in front of her friends at her soccer team end-of-the-year party. It's a surprise that she stays sane. Many people would laugh at that sentence. |

Excerpt: The Precious Somethings
“I suppose I’ll take on a new life,” she said resultantly. “What exactly can I do with it?”
“Anything you like,” Dr. Miracle replied. “But first let’s pen down your name. Your real name, please.”
She smiled brilliantly before saying the name her parents gave her, the name she loved so. “My name is Dorothy Lorraine Hampton.”
Dr. Miracle smiled back at her before writing it down on a piece of paper he had grabbed from his desk. “Hometown?”
“Toronto, Ontario,” she replied.
“Age?”
“Eighteen.”
“Birthdate?”
Dorothy paused, looking up again once more. She was having trouble remembering. “June 6, I believe. Yes, that’s it! June 6, 1924.”
Dr. Miracle stopped writing and put his pen on his desk. He sighed. “Now, Dorothy. I know you must be eager for your new life, but we really need your real information.”
Dorothy raised her eyebrows and nodded. “I dig, Dr. Miracle. I’m excited, sure, but I haven’t gone off and blown my wig. I’m telling you the truth, I swear it.”
“You can’t be! Why, to be eighteen years old you must have been born between the years 3001 and 3003.”
Dorothy felt like she should laugh, but the look on Dr. Miracle’s face told her that was the last thing she should do. He truly believed what he was saying.
“What year is it, then, Doc?” she asked.
Dr. Miracle stood up on his feet and began piling papers on his desk. “It’s the year 3020. You know that.”
