Synopsis: PROJECT RANDOM
The Story Of What Can Happen When Two People Team Up To SPREAD THE RANDOM.
Excerpt: PROJECT RANDOM
It was a Monday. The "attack", as they called it, took place at exactly eight o'clock in the morning, when most people would be on their way to work.
Zooey and Oliver were on the roof of the Project Random building, a bucket of ninjas in between then, at 7:58, and Zooey's stomach was filled with nervous butterflies.
"Ready?" Oliver asked, loading a ninja into his slingshot.
"Spread the random." Zooey replied. This was the Project Random slogan; it was printed on all of the business cards and was on the building's sign.
"Go!" Oliver said when it was time, and they began launching the ninjas into the air. They say other little black specks shooting into the air above dozens of other buildings in the city, and Zooey grinned, really getting into it. She and Oliver began shooting three ninjas at a time, delighting in the wind which suddenly picked up, spreading the floating ninjas further, higher, to more people.
Zooey scooped up an armful of the canisters and flung them over the edge of the building to the people on the streets below, laughing happily. Oliver picked up individual ninjas and hurled them as far as he could.
Finally, after about fifteen minutes, they were all out, and they collapsed onto the couch they had dragged up to the roof the night before, grinning, basking in their success. Ninjas drifted by on the breeze, and, looking up, they could see that some of their shooters hadn't run out yet.
At about 8:45, the Baxter Tech helpers were all assembled in the Project Random office, drinking champagne and toasting each other for the success of the very first Random Act.
