Synopsis: The Betrayal of Hetre

Pulsar, Pie, and Aeiroth expected to be heroes when they returned home after saving the planet Sista from the Pectrites, but instead are treated like scientific experiments. The government of Hetre needs to know everything about the powers of Earth that the girls accidentally acquired from the Pectrites. Far from the adventure they left and the fame they expected, their lives are now full of school and every kind of scientific test they can think of. And worst of all, they are forbidden to travel to Earth for any reason.

But the Pectrites, a race with a natural “crown” of horns on their heads and a strong desire to dominate, didn’t intend to remain confined by the Loyloit after they lost the planet Sista. Now they come to Hetre, determined to take back their powers and get revenge on the girls. Hetre enters into negotiations with the pectrites to see if a peaceful solution can be reached, and that’s when Hetre’s true colors are revealed.

Since the government of Hetre has been trying to find the secret to travel to other planets besides Earth for hundreds of years, they see the coming of the Pectrites not as a threat but as a great opportunity. In exchange for the ability to travel to other worlds, Hetre joins the pectrites and pledges to help them take over another planet called Fantasy. It turns out that Hetre has been stealing resources from Earth and now needs another planet to steal resources from as well.

Betrayed and without support, Pulsar Pie and Aeiroth flee to Earth and do the only thing they can do to upset the plans of Hetre and the pectrites: they reveal to the people of Earth what has been going on and help them fight for the independence they didn’t know they had lost.

Excerpt: The Betrayal of Hetre

Pulsar, Pie, and Aeiroth boarded the shuttle that would take them to meet the loyloit in their ship which was in orbit. The government sent two men with them. They waved at the people and the cameras that watched them go. When they were inside there were no more cameras and Pulsar breathed a sigh of relief.

“Can’t handle being famous, huh?” said Pie.

“I don’t know why you like everyone looking at you,” said Pulsar. “I hate it.”

Aeiroth turned to the new guys. “Are you excited about seeing the loyloit?”

“I can hardly believe it’s happening,” said one of the men whose name was Rolech. “I’ve dreamed about this all my life.”

“Oh I know what you mean,” said Pie. “I couldn’t believe it when the loyloit showed up on Sista. It was AMAZING. They’re so cool.”

“It’s weird though,” said the other man whose name was Edir. “The loyloit don’t make any sense to me. Why would they do things this way? And why have they abandoned us for so many years?”

“I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough,” said the Rolech.

“If they tell us,” said Pulsar.

“I’m also concerned that they won’t tell us anything we want to know,” said Edir.

“Oh you of little faith,” said Pie to both of them. “Let’s just see what happens.”

So they did. And soon enough they docked and boarded. When they entered, they saw no one there at first. The door closed behind them and they were still alone.

“This doesn’t feel right,” said Pulsar.

“You’ve said that before,” said Pie.

“Yeah but this really doesn’t feel right,” said Pulsar.

“I agree with you, Pulsar,” said Aeiroth. “Where are the loyloit?”

“We should wait for them to come to us,” said Pulsar.

Rolech and Edir agreed, thinking that it wasn’t a good idea to do anything that might upset the loyloit, and they were the ones who were invited here, so they should wait for their hosts to show them where to go.

But when the door opened, it was not a loyloit that they saw. It was a pectrite.

“Neum says hello and has asked me to lead you this way,” said the pectrite.

They didn’t budge for a moment.

“Why would they send a pectrite to get us?” whispered Pie to Aeiroth.

We stood their awkwardly. Rolech and Edir looked like they wanted to go follow the pectrite, but Pulsar grabbed the one’s sleeve so he didn’t go and he looked back at her.

“Neum is waiting,” said the pectrite in a perfectly normal fashion. “You don’t have anything to fear from me, we pectrites are just in transit toward our new home. We surrendered and I am helping out while I am here.”

Pie made the strangest face that was of confusion and she looked at Pulsar. “What universe did we step into?” she said.

The communicator on the belt of Rolech beeped and he looked at it. “The message asks for an update from us. They say the ship has begun to move away from Hetre.”

The pectrite hesitated and began to look impatient.

“This isn’t right,” said Aeiroth. “Why have we started moving away from Hetre?”

Pulsar immediately blasted her light into the pectrite’s eyes, blinding him for the time being.

“Gah!” said the pectrite and put his hands up by his eyes and leaned on the wall.

“They’re trying to kidnap us, that’s why!” said Pulsar. “Come on, back to the shuttle!”
