Synopsis: De Rien
This is not happily ever after...
As second princess to the Pedrasian throne, Idrienne-Audra has succumbed to her fate: too worthless to marry, too valuable to throw away. She exists primarily as a celebrity, loved and envied by Pedrasia's bourgeoisie. As the date to her sister's wedding approaches, Rien is given two choices: she may stay in Pedrasia and play nursemaid to her sister's future children, or she may join her two brothers in their cross-continent quest to find suitable brides and hope a well-to-do noble falls for her along the way. Sheltered and inexperienced, Rien is wary of leaving the city at all—but she has always seem something poetic in quests, so she reluctantly agrees to the latter.
The dates are set. She will leave. Her sister will marry.
What she doesn't expect is to fall in love with her sister's fiance. And once the rest of the world finds out, the tentative peace between Pedrasia and Kes is broken, catching Rien in the middle of a revolution. Desperate, she flees Pedrasia, only to stumble upon the quest of her dreams, involving assumed-extinct unicorns, primordial magic skills, and a crazy search for the last safe place.
De Rien... it means nothing.
