Synopsis: Searching for Epiphanies
Bailey Aldorn is a conceited writer, working unhappily at a restaurant in Andover, Massachusetts. That is, until she moves across country to small California town Ashton, where her sister Mikayla died. There, she meets the Ressing family: introverted Audrey, welcoming Evelyn, and misunderstood Demitri.

His face was still contorted in rage, but I didn't take that into account. I just continued with my pissed-off rant, my voice rising in tone. The gesticulations got worse.
“I mean, thanks to the atheist lords of neverending horrors, I'm alone in this stupid town and nobody at all is coming out because it's RAINING like God decided humankind is so fucked up that we need to have another flood, and this is California where the sun is supposed to shine forever, not just for an ephemeral split-second! Is every cliché about California a lie?”
My words slurred together in a mumbling, fast-paced stutter, but I no longer cared if the Huge Monster-Guy heard what I had to say.
“And then this random GUY comes along and I accidentally run into him—oh, no wait, I meant to collide with him, because I want Ashton to hate me for the rest of my natural life. And he, obviously, is going to be the first of that useless trend.”
