Zap (working title)

There's a sort of buzzing in the air as I sway to the music, my hands on my partner's shoulders. All around me, girls in dresses equally as frivolous as mine, if not more so, nuzzle with their boyfriends, the fluorescent lights sparkling delightfully off the plastic champagne glasses in their hands. Everyone around me looks as though they are having the moment of their lives.

Yeah, well, that's because none of them have the ice-cold hilt of a sword digging into their hip bones.
