Bloody Mistakes

My hand attempted to run through my tangled mass of hair, but after it snagged on a rather large rat, I gave up. Red light out of the corner of my eyes caught my attention, allowing me to forget, for a moment, that I was in a strange room. The crimson numbers glared back at me. Hell, the clock nearly looked out of place in the bare room. Then, more panic.

It was 10 A.M.

I was supposed to be at work by 8!

With a strangled cry, I tried to escape the confining sheets. I needed away from here, from this strange room. The blanket twisted about my legs as I fought to get off the mattress. The whole mess ended up with me falling in an undignified heap beside the bed, blankets still twisted about my naked body.

Naked.

I was naked.

Why was I naked?

Clearly my mind had not woken up, because no answer readily came to my fairly easy question. I mean, shouldn’t a girl remember why she was naked…?
