Excerpt: Shadows of light

I was young but now I am old. Allow me to trouble you with the ramblings and ravings of an old man, dear traveler. Let me tell you my story for I see you are a bard. You remember the old days, yes? You remember those of old, Taverlon, lord of Dryvas who banished Nigara, Zithara, the fair wife of Faharo, the gods of old, these you know well dearest bard, so sit and let me tell you a new tale. Know me, and in knowing me remember her, and in remembering her you honor me. Good sir, do not deny an old man, a proud singer and bard such as yourself his last story.
There, sit, warm your hands by this feeble fire and share this stew with me. These wild flavors remind me of her, the fair daughter of the shadow land who loved the light. This was her home. That stone of granite you rest against marks where her ashes lie. Do not begrudge an old man your energies. Turn and wipe the moss away and read me the inscription.

Akasha, slayer of shadows, justice seeker
Let her wanderings end
Her fighting cease
And her soul find rest
