Shelly
an excerpt

Shelly arrived back at her house and was surprised to see that it was already getting late into the evening when she exited her car. That was really strange, it wasn't cloudy or overcast at all. The sky was far too dark for 4:30 in the afternoon. She turned the car back on to check the time on the dash board display, she was feeling too shaky and disoriented to actually get out of the car and enter the house to confirm the time. When she turned the key in the ignition to illuminate the dash board, the lights came on inside as well as the radio which was playing too loud for her taste, she reached out to turn the volume down and was shocked to see that there was blood on her arm. She looked down at her clothes and found that there were a few blood marks on them as well and when she looked at her reflection in the rear view mirror, she could see a few blood smears across her face as well.
The shock intensified when she finally focused her attention to the dash board clock and saw that the time was 7:56pm. How could that be possible? She had left the mall at about 4:15pm and the drive home only took about 10 minutes. She was sure that she had gotten into her car and had driven straight home, must have driven on automatic was the thought she had when she started to get out of the car after turning it off. That was when she noticed how dark it had become.
What was going on? She got removed the keys from the ignition and got out of the car. She saw that she had parked towards the rear of the house, a bit further back than she usually parked the car as she liked to have it visible from the street and visible from her bedroom window as well. Shelly walked through the back yard and climbed the few steps to the back veranda which she then crossed to enter into the house through one of the French doors which lined the back wall.
She was glad that she had left some lights on in the house, she was feeling very disoriented and having to stop and find light switches might have been difficult. She walked through the back sunroom and went into the downstairs bathroom where she did have to grope for the light switch in the darkened room.
The image she saw looking back at her through the mirror did not look familiar to her for a moment. Looking back at her was a very pale woman with the same light brown hair that she had and she was even wearing the same clothes which Shelly had been wearing when she left the house that afternoon, but the face appeared to be different. Slowly, Shelly was able to pick out her own features and start to recognize that the woman staring at her from the mirror was her own self. She had never seen her eyes looking so blank before and her colouring was several shades lighter that it should be. Her forehead and cheeks had a small bit of blood smeared on them. It looked as though she had wiped a bloody back hand across her forehead, she could imagine the action being one that she would do after doing some sweaty work and she needed to wipe the sweat from her brow. The blood on her cheeks reminded her of the marks that would be left on someone's face if they had paint on their hands and had then placed them on the face in contemplation of a problem and then had removed them by sliding them down.
