Synopsis:

In the modern world, Valkyrie still walk among the living, choosing fallen warriors in anticipation of Ragnarok and serving Odin in Valhalla.

Valkyrie Sigrún and her warrior husband Helgi, one of Odin's greatest Einherjar, are allowed to spend one night per year together away from Valhalla. When Helgi fails to show for their yearly tryst, Sigrún learns the evil god Loki has sent Helgi to earth and he has no idea who, or what, he is.

Charged by Odin and Freyja to find her husband and return him to Valhalla, Sigrún is thrust into the modern world. But time is running out. Ragnarok is approaching and Helgi is fated to turn the tides of war. Without him, all may be lost.

Excerpt:

We are the shieldmaidens. The spearmaidens. The weavers of war.

We choose the fallen. The ones who must die. The ones who will live again.

To Valhalla we carry them. Or Fólkvangr for the Mistress of the Slain.

One part goddess. One part hero. One part warrior.

We are Valkyrie and we walk among you still.
