Mike woke up as he normally does about ten minutes before his alarm went off. Something that has bugged him for a long time. Just enough time for him to get drowsy and want to get back to sleep, but not long enough to actually do it. Blast his internal clock!

Sitting up and swinging his legs out of bed he turned back slightly so he could get to the little control panel mounted in the wall above the head of his bed. He cancelled the alarm. For a few second he sat on the edge of the bed with his feet dangling over the floor. He had the look of a man contemplating suicide.

Mike Devries was not a happy man.
