Synopsis: Past Present (tentative title)
Take an elderly, and quite dead, mercenary from 17th century Japan, return her to health and youth, give her a pep talk, then plop her down in the NGE universe to mess things up a bit while The Powers That Be sit back and laugh.
Excerpt: Past Present (tentative title)
Whimpering, the woman slowly regained consciousness. Wincing in pain, she whispered, more or less, to herself in a hoarse voice. “That's gonna hurt in the morning.”
Slowly, she stretched, both wincing at the pain and wondering why other places, places that had been injured, healed, and injured again over the years were not hurting. Moving cautiously, she sat up on the sleeping mat and rubbed her eyes.
“Ah. I see our guest is awake,” said a voice from behind her.
Whirling, the woman almost instantly crouched into a defensive posture reminiscent of a combination of sumai and kumi-uchi.
“Who are you?” she demanded. “And why am I here?”
“I am Amenominakanushi," the person stated even as he? she? it? ignored her question.
“Amenominakanushi?” the woman queried...
