"They come in the night and take our children!"
Evander paused the recording and considered the frozen face on the screen before him. The fear and desperation were clear on the mostly human countenance. This species, these people, needed help, were crying out for it. A part of Evander was moved to offer that assistance. After all, wasn't this exactly what he was heading toward? The studying, the training, the nurturing of nascent instincts, had surely been to prepare him for this work and to follow in his father's footsteps.
