Excerpt: Yesterday at Brewery Road
"This is my wall." I blurted out.
"Excuse me?" She replied. Her voice was surprisingly deep compared to her looks. It wasn't deep like a boy's but it wasn't silky or extremely girly like you would expect it to be.
"I...uh…this is my wall." I repeated stupidly.
"Is it now? Have you bought if from the government or did it come free with your house?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
"No...I just...I've been coming here for a long time..."
"And that makes you the owner of it? The owner of a wall?" I blushed with embarrassment. Why was I so, so stupid?
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean...sorry." I muttered as I got off the wall and started to quickly walk back home before I embarrassed myself even further. That was me; too passive but I suppose she was right. Of course I didn't own the wall and besides, I never even went there anymore. What right did I have to go up there and claim that it was my wall? As embarrassed as I was, I still felt angry. Not only had she taken possession of my wall but she had also embarrassed me while doing it.
I tried to get back to my homework after returning home but instead I found myself watching the small girl on my wall. What fun was she having just sitting there? Because that's what she was doing; simply sitting there. As I watched her, I thought that she seemed familiar. I had seen her somewhere before.
So that's where it started, at Brewery road and, most importantly, on the wall.
