Gai was ecstatic. She had never been so thrilled for the future, and never had she been in such suspense. She could feel the magic of Fate working in her bones the entire time, like Jack knew a secret about her destiny she had no idea existed. She could only hope to find out what it was before it was too late to prepare. She knew Naunt Maura always said, “It’s best not to over prepare, for life will throw you something you never expected anyways.” Gai knew that she had to take this chance and run with it, for she might not ever get another one like it.
