UNIVERSE: Set in England immediately after the Great War

CHARACTERS: Edwina Markham, her husband Peter Markham, her lover Roger Deane, her friends Ellen Manning, Pamela and James Worthington and Arthur Bascombe.

SUMMARY: Edwina Markham is novel about relationships, in which a woman who married for comfort rather than love in late Edwardian England, is given a second chance at something finer - if she has the courage. But self-fulfillment does'nt come without consequences. Living in a world turned upside down, she finds that an honourable life is not discarded lightly; and comfort, which is both all there is and not nearly enough, can be found in the unlikeliest of places. Told in a modernist stream-of-consciousness format reminiscent of Virginia Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway.
