Synopsis: Where Angels Fear to Tread

In 1500 magic was quietly, profanely banished from the world. The change was gradual and, for most people, invisible. More than 500 years later barely anyone alive can recall the cruel face of a dragon or the ominous song of a sorcerer.

Humanity may have forgotten, but the world remembers. The Banishing saw a new kind of magic, a power focused into a single being, a human with the power to overturn the old rules in favor of those born of his own will. Just as long as these Gifts have been given to the world, the powerful Order of White has sworn to uphold the boundary between the worlds. But the Order are not the only ones toiling at the border between mystery and understanding.

Timothy Bezelworth just turned 30. He lost his job when the economy fell apart. Feeling like a failure and alone in a new city, Tim has no idea that his unfulfilling life is about to unravel. A Gift from the universe to all life, Tim is going to change the world.
