La La Folie
an excerpt
The trio slowed to a stop (one smoothly, one with a round of cursing and nearly being tossed onto the ground, and one steady as a box in a saddlebag) in front of the "Near Miss" saloon, the sign under the name proudly proclaiming it as "The Biggest Little Saloon in Lafayette!" Given the state of affairs in the rest of Lafayette one could make a safe bet that it was the only saloon in Lafayette, but Lassey wasn't there to split hairs or quibble over accuracy in signage.
"This horse was born in the depths of hell, Kelley. May any children you manage to spawn from your misbegotten loins be covered in boils from birth unto death."
"Now that ain't hardly fair, Lassey. He just ain't used to you is all."
"My hatred for you grows by the day in leaps and bounds. I had previously thought that I had plumbed the depths of my boiling anger that you still breathe my air, but it appears that I was underestimating my capacity to grow larger pockets of abhorrence as a multi talented human being."
"Buy ya a drink?"
"God please."
