Synopsis: Ashes Like Snowflakes
Livi is dying. She's tired of fighting the ravenous strain of angiosarcoma that has caused her to become a connoisseur of pain. When her consultant decides to stop her treatment, she has to decide what to do with the last few months of her life.
A chance encounter outside an all-night pharmacy helps her make up her mind, and she decides that she wants to see the loneliest, most lost and abandoned places in the world before the darkness swallows her forever.
She'll spend her time with a glassblower who makes paperweights with ashes of the deceased, a mason selling headstones carved from marble mined in the dead zone in Chernobyl, and a woman who makes real baby dolls but is sure that some of them leave a little something of themselves behind when their new mums have been to collect.
Together they explore the empty abandoned places in the world, always aware that the clock is ticking for one of them, and that only three will be coming home.
