Sometimes these damn meetings were nothing short of suburban Tupperware parties, and usually I went through the robotics of it without paying much attention. I know that makes me sound like I don't give a shit, but how many meetings can you attend and not succumb to some sort of apathy? It was all robotic, "my name is......... happy to see new faces........ feel free to come to me with any questions....... Same time same place next month,........ good night, play safe." Right? Anyone who has been to our subculture gatherings knows the rote. We all give lip service, but we are all at those meetings for the same reasons, fresh flesh, first sightings, cherry poppin' chances. Oh I know the political line is to educate and welcome new members into groups and give them chances to ask questions, I know I know. Honestly though, how often is it in your heart merely to educate those young'uns? How often is it in your heart to hope to meet one worth taking home?
