Eric took a look at his new weapon and gave [Maya] a puzzled stare. "Why'd you give me this?" he asked. "You told me that this sword was special to you...irreplaceable, even."
Maya stared back at him with equal annoyance. "Okay, so I lied," she said. "Those swords are easy to find at any weapon shop. I estimate I paid about $50 for that one."
"Well, it's nice to know that the sentimental value of a weapon can be measured in dollars."
"Ha, ha. If you're so worried about my precious sword, then give it back to me, and we'll get a personalized one for you to own."
"No, that's okay...this one will do just fine."
