Brief Author Bio:

I was born on a cold November morning in Siberia, Russia.
I grew up in Prokopievsk and went to one of the best schools in the world where I was terribly spoiled by my wonderful teachers. Until about 7th grade I was thinking of becoming an interpreter but the circumstances (and teachers) pushed me into quite a different career (and I am grateful for it more than the words can express!). I started working in a lab (yes, scientific lab) at the age of 15. So now, 18 years later, I officially have been working in science more than a half of my life.
Pursuing career in science did not change my love of literature and what had been my hobby became my safe harbor and solace after long days of failed experiments.
I am not writing to become the next Pulitzer winner. I am not sure I could ever get my stories published. I write because I love it and I can't not write. Not until I give up on being a semi-sane person.
My pet-project (and Nano novel #2) is Young Adult fantasy novel. I have a great incentive to finish it soon - because my son keeps pestering me about what is going to happen and I want him to read it before he grows out of his love for his mom's writings.

Synopsis:

Continuation of my first novel, "The Road in the Moonlight". Alexa gets entangled in a sticky web of Munnediery's politics, Myro prepares to lead humans to a war and Ladir angsts about things that can't be changed.

The reality is never simple, even in fairytales, so when Alexa finds herself living one, she takes the only road possible, even though its a path untaken by any human before.
Will she be able to change a cruel ending of a fairytale remains to be seen.

Excerpt:

Dull grey of an autumn's sky changes into a blinding blue of winter's radiance. Puffy blanket of snow covers the town and, like gingerbread cookies, houses in Brösvin stand sugar-coated with shimmering white. Alexa walks through soft cold heaps down the half hidden trail in the Central Park and snowflakes of memories dance down onto the earth around her in crazy circles, emerging from nowhere up in the sky. They pile up, melting together, fusing past and present and then spill down from the corner of the eye, salty and warm, so unlike the cold snow they once were. When finally she reaches her destination, Alexa opens her backpack and pulls out a book. It looks old, even ancient. Soft leather cover with subtle oak-leaves etching running along the spine, braced along the edges by a silver filigree. Once, long ago, it seemed mysterious and inviting. Alexa's fingers touch it carefully, caressing the velvety surface. However little effort it takes to open the book, Alexa finds herself unable to do that. She hesitates, for a moment giving in to fear that pools heavily in her stomach.
Tell me how this ends.
