Favorite writers: The authors of the above novels, Edgar Allan Poe, W.B. Yeats, Aldous Huxley, Dorothy Parker, Anatole France, Anne Sexton, Dr. Seuss, Sylvia Plath, Meredith Anne Pierce, Beatrix Potter, Tanith Lee, Anton Chekhov, Ray Bradbury!, Stephen Vincent Benet, Sophocles, and the unparalleled William Shakespeare.

Favorite music: I prefer silence when I write, actually. Any other time I like Black Sabbath & Ozzy Osbourne, Dio, Sixpence None the Richer, Dolly Parton, Bad Religion, all the anglophile obsessions: The Beatles, Herman's Hermits!, The Who, The Sex Pistols, Joy Division, I guess Tom Jones is all right, some of the Stones; Garbage, The New Bohemians, Enya, Ilona Mitrecey, Loreena McKennit, KT Tunstall; Iron Maiden!, Venom, London After Midnight, The Misfits, Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu; Moix Dix Mois, Joan Crawford when she sings, the soundtrack to Chicago; most of the old Disney movie songs (like Aladdin, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast - not that High School Musical crap); David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper; Flogging Molly, Cream, Eric Clapton, the Clash; Heart, Chthonic, In This Moment, oh all right I like Panic! Non-noveling interests: Art ... old movies, interesting movies, interesting people, the City, watching the sun rise on the way to school, fall and winter, Latin, collecting antiques from garage sales, old Victorian houses, Medieval religious art (though I'm a deist), current events, ancient history, and British culture.
