Adaire Of The Apocalypse.
an excerpt
...stopping half way up the stairs digging in his pockets saying, “Oh and before I forget, I should give this back to you. I sure as heck don't have a use for such a common metal.” David then tossed a gold ring at Adaire as he closed the door, the gold ring that Adaire threw off of the bridge two years ago, the same gold ring that Adaire was going to propose with so long ago.
Adaire caught it in his hands, turning it over examining it. A single tear falling from each of his eyes, remembering back to what he had in mind, and how his life could have been if they wouldn't have been captured by David, who turned out to be an alien.
Adaire then turns to Abby, looking her in the eyes, and getting down on one knee, saying, “Abby Caroline Busenburg, will you marry me?” As he held her hands in his, presenting her with the ring he wanted to give to her two years ago.
Abby then, with tears rushing down her face, as she realizes that this is the first time they have touched since before they were abducted, two years ago. Looking into Adaires eyes, she opens her mouth to answer, but finding her voice not willing to work for her now, she strongly nods her head. Abby then releases Adaires hands, while he puts the ring on her ring finger. Then joining their hands again, as Adaire rises to his feet, eyes still locked on hers. They then pull each other close, hands releasing, so to be able to embrace the other. Eyes then closing, their heads draw together, lips coming close, pausing. Soon their lips touch one another's, but only for an instant. And for that instant they are alone, they are not surrounded by four other people, they are not in an alien spaceship heading towards the unknown of another planet, they are not wearing the small cloaks that barely cover their bodies. But instead they are everywhere, and yet nowhere. They are together, and that is all that matters, nothing else in the universe is important as the other is for this instant.
Lips coming apart, their heads back up, and their eyes open. Tears flowing freely down their faces, tears of joy, tears of life, tears of love. Their bodies come apart, hands going back to the others, they slowly walk over to a wall, eyes still connected to each others, and sit down. They say nothing, there is nothing, only the other....
.....And for the amount the two loved each other, people would think that they would be kissing all the time or holding hands. Well the later of the two is true, whenever Adaire and Abby are together they are holding the others hand. But when it came to kissing, that is a rarity for this couple to be cought doing. In the nearly four months since they started dating, the two kissed on three occasions. And each one of those occasions was their monthly anniversary. And then the kisses that two shared, could hardly be called a kiss, seeing as their lips touch for only a moment. But to this couple, the moment that their kisses occupied were probably some of the most passionate moments in history between a couple. And had their two sets of lips touched for longer then a just a moment, the world may not stand. Because the shock wave produced by so much love coming together in one place would more then likely, flatten the earth of all else aside from these two lovers passion for one another....
...The crash had been a really traumatic event in Adaires early childhood, and may contribute to why Adaire is so quiet. But the accident also somehow made it so that Caroll was unable to bear children any longer. It is either psychological, or else it is somehow physical. The later is doubted because the only physical injury she had obtained in the crash was a broken arm, and some small scratches. Adaire, on the other hand, acquired a scar running along the diagonal of his back...
