Brief Author Bio: I have been an aspiring writer for years. I will be attempting to complete the second half of this novel after a hiatus from last year. To also add to the challenge, I will be attempting this years NaNoWriMo while transitioning with a move from the Metro Detroit area to the Chicago suburbs. Let's see if I can do this. PS My photo is from last Halloween when I went as Dr. Frederick Frankenstein. It's pronounced FRONK-EN-STEEN! |

Synopsis: Lore: the Legend of the Fourth Creation (Part 2)
Cattaran was raised to question authority. So when he questioned the ancient monks of a violent god in his village, he knew survival was his only choice.
While on the lamb, the goddess River and her realm treat Cattaran as their own. But are their deeper plots hidden in the trees Cattaran has learned to call home?
Excerpt: Lore: the Legend of the Fourth Creation (Part 2)
Cattaran wrapped his arms around his body and wet clothes, the late winter chill over taking him as he emerged from the water. Dervish rushed forward with a wool blanket and wrapped it around him. “T-thank y-y-you,” he chattered quietly.
Dervish made sure he was completely covered before she turned to Carabba. “Carabba, you wouldn’t mind would you?”
“Not at all. Come here Cattaran,” she said.
Cattaran was not expecting the god of heat and fire to put her arms around him. But he was instantly glad when she did. Carabba embraced him in a soft touch and he could instantly feel the warmth of her body to his. Completely matter of fact with what she was doing, she said to Cattaran, “look at me.” He abliged. “Open your mouth.”
“Huh?”
Cattaran raised an eyebrow, not really sure what to expect. Carabba merely gave him a look that bid him to obey. “Just do it.”
Cattaran did as he was asked, but shut his eyes to any unexpected surprises.
For being so brash at times, Cattaran had to admit that Carabba was remarkably gentle. She put her mouth barely an inch to his and softly breathed into him with warm heat. In an instant, Cattaran’s bones stopped rattling inside his body and he relaxed, welcoming the warmth she was giving him. He was hypnotized by it and didn’t even realize he had let the blanket Dervish had given him fall from his shoulders. This is nice, he thought in a hazy daze. Oh, I could stay like this forever…
But just as he settled into his nice stupor, it was all over. Carabba pulled away and smiled at him. “There we go. All better?”
Cattaran blinked his eyes open and looked down at Carabba’s face, remembering, for not the first time, that she was undeniably gorgeous. “Heh…yeah…um, thanks…Carabba.”
He began to blush, but Carabba did not notice in the least as she walked off. Dervish nodded a thank you to her.
Dervish linked her arm with his as she lead them back towards the bonfire where their meeting had been interrupted twice so far this evening.
“Dervish?”
“Yes Cattaran?”
“Uh…did Ballant see that?”
“No.”
“Good.”
Dervish suppressed a snort of laughter.
