Synopsis: Double Play

A double play. You know, like in baseball, when a defensive play results in two base runners were being called out. That's kind of like what we were doing... only it was in a game much more serious than baseball. And if-- and when-- our two base runners were called out, there could be some disasterous consequences.

Excerpt: Double Play

Rachel rolled her eyes. “Really, Kay? I know you’re waiting for Sam,” she replied. “It’s okay. I’m waiting for Tyler. We’re gonna go get ice cream… do you guys wanna come with us, or do you have plans with Logan later?”

Ah, Logan. Logan Callaghan, also known as my boyfriend. We’d been together for the past three months, and… that was probably the first time I noticed everything had changed.

Meaning, when the eight guys standing out on the baseball field realized that I, Kaitlin Michelle Doyle, was, in fact, a girl. Shocker, right? I should’ve gotten my brothers to send out a memo to them so that they wouldn’t have to figure it out on their own.

But as I knew better than any girl out there, boys were stupid.
