Kaede
an excerpt

" “Xia…marry me, please. Be my wife. I know it’s so sudden, that you haven’t known me for that long, but in the few months that you were unconscious, I sat there…waiting. Waiting for the day where I could see your sparkling eyes from under those eyelids that were always closed. I sat there for four months, every day, hoping and waiting. Until that one day, I saw and felt you move. I ran outside to go get Yuriko, and she said that she would get you cleaned up in the shower. You went and woke up when I wasn’t there…I didn’t get to see your eyes open for the first time, I didn’t get to be the first thing that you saw, welcoming you to this new life of yours. I never want to miss another moment…please, Xia…we don’t have to right away…but please...”
His voice trails off, as he reaches into the pocket of his jacket, puling out a small black box. He opens it, taking out a small silver ring, shining brightly in the moonlight. I can see the words “always and forever” engraved on the inside. He kneels, and slides it on my finger. It fits perfectly, as if it was made to fit my finger and my finger alone. "
