Post-Apocalyptic tale of revolution and love in the midst of disease, decay, and ever-present knowledge of one's own mortality.

Preface: Three Years Earlier
"Las I day frying." ~ A song on the radio pounding out the words we can all relate to, something that reminds him of Spiderman, something about a hero. He skims the news reader – all the same: health care, the economic crash, war.
Days like this it’s too much, too early. He looks away from the screen, disgusted. Takes a swig of the sweet chemical brew beside him. Chews the protein mix slowly, trying not to think too much.
Thing was, they all saw it coming. Everyone knew.
