Synopsis: Murdoch Inc

Two of the most powerful families are about to destroy everything put in place to protect humanity, as one works to exploit the other.

Excerpt: Murdoch Inc

Blue eyes watched the two children playing in the backseat in the rear view mirror. The twin three year olds had consumed enough sugar to keep them awake for a few more hours. Carefully maneuvering the family’s prized Bentley Mulsanne along the icy roads, Anna turned down a tight side street and stopped in the middle of the road. Directly in front of her was a dark car, one that could easily be overlooked, unlike the vehicles owned by the Murdoch family. With one last glance at the children she climbed out of the car, grateful that she’d taken the time to get changed out of her ball gown and into more comfortable winter clothes. Just the thought of being any more uncomfortable than she already was made her feel sick to her stomach. Her actions would affect her whole family, but it had to be done in order to protect them all.

“You’re blocking the road,” Anna called out as a figure climbed out of the second car.

The figure stepped into the light, a rather tall woman in a dark suit, as another got out of the vehicle behind her. “We’re having car trouble,” The woman offered as she approached Anna.

“This street’s not big enough for the both of us,” Taking off her gloves, Anna held out her hand in greeting.

“Whoever suggested that line for a code should be shot,” The woman commented with a quite laugh as they shook hands.

“As much as I love my brother I agree with you Agent Wyman,” She said as she quickly slipped her gloves back on. “Is everything ready?”

“You and the children will come with me,” She began to explain, flicking her dark hair out of her face as she spoke. “Once we’re a safe distance away, my crew will set it all up. You have nothing to worry about.”

Anna nodded and glanced back towards the car as another Agent helped her children out of their seats. Part of her couldn’t believe she was actually going through with it all, but it had to be done. Her family needed to be safe and it was the only way she could assure that. “I joked with my husband that if I wasn’t home in an hour he should send out a search party,” Anna informed Wyman seriously, her voice taking on an edge that didn’t suit her youthful appearance. But then, there was a lot about Anna that didn’t suit the woman she appeared to be and the Agents knew it. “You should know that he will take it seriously if I haven’t returned in forty five minutes…”

With a slight shake of her head, Wyman held up her hand to interrupt. “By the time he thinks to grab his coat we’ll all be long gone,” She smiled reassuringly. “Miss Pritt, my team are trained for these sorts of situations. We’re taught to be ready before you’ve even called for us. There is nothing you have to worry about.”

“You don’t know the Murdoch’s,” Anna replied simply.
