Synopsis: Nini's Garden
Grandma Elle finds angels in Nini's Garden, the garden named after her granddaughter, and in her own backyard.
Excerpt: Nini's Garden
The thought that Elle had about eggs was in the eating of them. How did people get the idea to eat eggs? Who thought up the idea to cook an egg. More curious she was about who thought up the idea to beat an egg and add sugars and flours and make an angel food cake. It was curious indeed, that someone had the creative mind to make angel food cake. Fluffy and sweet and light as can be. Elle loved angel food cake. "Too much," she would say from the last time she had made an angel food cake and eaten most of the sugary deliciousness in a few short days. She had glazed it lightly but that glaze was a huge part of it’s appeal, a creamy vanilla flavor that mixed so well with the cake itself. So, who indeed would think to cook and eat an egg. Did someone find one cracked open and cooked on a rock and decide it smelled good so that they took a bite? Not even that made sense to Elle.
