Synopsis: The Four Ghosts of Elsepth Peters

In an alternate-history Victorian London, Anjali Greene runs a boarding house where the usually benign ghosts are acting very strange indeed - they've begun attacking the residents. Even more disturbing is that one of the ghosts is Anjali's deceased husband. As the house's spirits become more and more violent, the residents discover a fresh hand-print on the inside of the locked door to an abandoned room in the basement. Anjali calls in Scotland Yard, but even in their not insignificant experience with the supernatural, they haven't seen anything like this.
