Brief Author Bio:

Switzerland is just a not-so-typical teenager, attempting to survive the perils of highschool. She writes when she can, and laughs at her classmates who have trouble writing a 1000 word essay in three weeks. She's weird, and her hobbies include stargazing, attempting to play guitar, and debating.
You can find her on 43things.com as Switzerland.
She aspires to be a journalist or a novelist someday.

Synopsis: The Shadow

The Shadow is essentially a self-exploration of me. It travels through past, present, and looks to the future to really get to know who I am. Although it's simply an exercise, hopefully it'll lead to some sort of enlightenment. Who knows, though? I certainly don't.

Excerpt: The Shadow

There is a place inside all of us that Carl Jung calls the shadow. This shadow is the side of our personalities that we repress and hide. However, to be truly great, these shadows must be confronted. While human nature itself is not evil, to be understood, these shadier realms must be confronted. And while good and evil, arguably, cannot be reconciled, they must both be considered and recognized for fear of the shadow enveloping the spirit when it is least expected.
It is 10:55; time to explore the shadow and see if shedding light on it in fact improves the nobility of the spirit.
“Cause at night, I’ve got nowhere to hide.” – Andrew McMahon
