True Love Shows
an excerpt
A young blonde haired girl ran down a dark hallway with no doors and no end. Where am I? she asked herself. Suddenly a dark figure loomed over her. A crooked smile spread across the face of the figure. There stood a handsome boy about her age and he moved closer. He had white glistening fangs that sent a chill up her spine. A noise broke the silence and darkness like a knife.
“ Ellie Nicole Martin,” came a teacher’s voice from behind her, “ Could you explain what the cosine of forty-five is for the class?”
She woke with a start and looked in her notes for the answer, “ No, Coach Jones, I can’t. I’m sorry.”
A blonde haired boy in front of her raised his hand, “ The answer is the square root of two over two.”
“ That is correct, Colin. Thank you for saving Mrs. Martin from complete embarrassment.” Coach Jones said glaring at Ellie.
“ Thanks so much Colin. You are awesome.” Ellie said as the teacher turned back to her teaching. “ Sorry, I had to work late last night. Then studied for a test until five-thirty. I literally got no sleep at all”
“ Just stay awake at least until lunch.”
“ I will. I promise you that much.”
Class seemed to crawl by, then finally the lunch bell rang.
