Brief Author Bio: In all honesty, I used to hate writing with a bloody passion. I didn't really learn to appriciate it until my eighth grade school year. In my eighth grade English class, we had to write a paper using sensory details to make the reader FEEL our words. Mrs. Dailey liked my paper so much, that she recommended me for our schools competitive writing team, Power of the Pen. I tried out, and to my great surprise, I made it! After an entire year of competitive flash writes, I really started to enjoy writing. The following year, I decided that I wanted to write a novel, and I took my first shot at NaNoWriMo. Needless to say, I failed horribly. Apparently, writing a novel and doing a flash wrote are two completely different things. The following year I attempted it again, and was fairly successful, but I never finished due to personal problems. This year I am going to go all the way, I have (in my opinion) an incredible idea, that should be fairly easy to write 50,000 words on. Wish me luck guys! |

Synopsis: Augmented Reality
When Augmented Reality begins, a young boy named John Calloway is just coming out of a five year coma. While he was unconcious, he and his mother came to live with his aunt in a small town called Dot, because his mother simply couldn't take care of him as as keep up with the house and other day-to-day tasks. However, everything may not be what it appears in Dot. There is something seriously wrong, and John is determined to figure out what it is.
Excerpt: Augmented Reality
I don't remember much... All I remember, is waking up in a strange bed; in a strange room, with absolutely no clue how I got there. I was in a state of complete and total discombobulation. In fact; I couldn't even remember my own name. Everything was such a blur. My head was spinning.
Where the hell am I? Who the hell am I? It was all so confusing. I couldn't seem to remember anything. Although, I was slowly regaining my senses; my entire body was numb. I didn't even have the strength to open my eyelids, but I could hear voices. They almost sounded surreal, they were close, yet distant. I was so out of it that I couldn't tell where exactly the voices were coming from.
The voices belonged to two women, who were bickering like an old married couple. One sounded very conservative, and the other very liberal. From what I could gather, they seemed like total opposites of eachother. As out of it as I was, I can still rmemeber their conversation word for word...
